About Leader
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, ‘Leader’ follows the journey of Arjun Prasad (played by Rana Daggubati), a well-educated man and the son of a prominent political leader. When his father, Sanjeevayya, the fictional Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is severely injured in a bomb blast, Arjun is urged to take over his political legacy. However, once he steps into his father’s shoes, Arjun uncovers deep-rooted corruption in the party, with control firmly in the hands of his uncle Mahadevayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Determined to bring about change, Arjun teams up with political expert Ali (Harsha Vardhan) and journalist Ratna Prabha (Priya Anand) to expose the corrupt system. His efforts to implement anti-corruption policies stir strong opposition, leading Arjun to ally with another party to secure his position. Eventually, he contests the elections as an independent candidate and emerges victorious.
The film is written by Rutwik Pavan and produced by M. Saravanan, M. S. Guhan, Aruna Guhan, and Aparna Guhan. Along with Rana Daggubati, the movie also stars Richa Gangopadhyay, Priya Anand, Suman, Suhasini, and Kota Srinivasa Rao in pivotal roles. Cinematography for the film was by Vijay C. Kumar, while editing was handled by Marthand K. Venkatesh. The film’s music was composed by Mickey J. Meyer.
